Charity Work

I recently had the honor of being invited to an amazing event promoting compassion towards animals!

The whole day was centred around raising awarness of animal cruelty, and all products were Vegan, I even had the privilage of being next to a baby hedgehog for the day as my stall was next to the Prickly Ball Hedgehog Lodge.

Fellow artist Pollyanna Pickering attended the event too, there was everything from Vegan body building products, to the League Against Cruel Sports.

A range of speakers were organised and the Derby Mp even made a speach!

The contribution to the table went towards helping animals in need, which made the whole day even more worth while.

The view from my stall, so many honorable charities including the one shown here.

Yes those are my coloured pencils I was working on the stall, whilst sampling the food.

This is the piece I was sat working on, I had some lovely comments

I would like to say a big thank you to Natalie for inviting me to such a well organised event....I met so many wonderful people and had a great time.

I recently applied to The Snow leopard Trust to be an Artist in Conservation Partner, and I am so pleased to announce I have been accepted!
I am so happy that I will have the opportunity to help make a difference to these amazing creatures.

We recently went to the Welsh Mountain Zoo which has 2 snow leopards, much to my family's annoyance I spent hours taking pictures by the cage, it really inspired me to try and help make a difference to these beautiful big cats lives, and help protect their future.

So all prints of "Nurture" and the original when mounted will contribute 10% per each sold to The Snow leopard trust.

So please help me, help them!

All prints can be found in my etsy store

I recently received this message in my Facebook inbox:

"Hey Vicky Patty, she is a flat coated retriever breeder and owner recently lost here home to a fire, she lost her 6 dogs and the house was completely destroyed. I was wondering if you would want to donate a picture to them? Maybe a portrait of her FCR that she lost in the fire? Your work is beautiful - there is a link on my page we are trying to have extreme makeover to do a makeover on their home it's part of that link she has photos of her dogs. Or maybe paint a FCR and we can raffle it off proceeds to the family. Let me know. Sorry to ask but again your work is gorgeous."

Although this is not the registered charity work I normally under take I really wanted to help in some way, I know how devastated I would be to loose all of my furry friends to a fire.

So I set to work on a portrait of all 6 dogs since the King Charles Cavalier didn't like to pose with the flat coated retriever the family would have something to remember all of their beloved pets in one place.

Here is the group that has been set up on Facebook

"The original came yesterday. Absolutely beautiful!!! It brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much Vicky, you are very talented!"- Patty

I also felt awful that there was a family that had lost everything so decided to try and help financially so 10% of all prints sold of the portrait will go towards helping the family get back on their feet.

The prints are the best quality printed to Fine Art Trade Guild Standards on Somerset enhanced paper 255GSM.

Prints can be purchase in my Etsy store and 10% WILL go towards the family, so please help me make a new start for this family Purchase here
